Thank you for your support - It is an honour to be your MP
I would like thank everyone who helped in my campaign and voted Labour in the Ealing Southall Parliamentary election on the 6th May. I am deeply honoured to have been re-elected to serve all the people of Ealing Southall in Parliament irrespective of how they voted.
I will roll up my sleeves and work hard on behalf of every individual and all communities in the constituency, helping build a united community. I will continue to run my office in the constituency and hold regular weekly advice surgeries and prioritise those issues that are important to local people.
I will campaign to protect acute services at Ealing Hospital, oppose the Southall gasworks development and Heathrow expansion, work to ensure Crossrail goes ahead, work in partnership with the new Labour Council and seek to protect and improve frontline public services in the difficult current financial circumstances.
It is a big challenge but I am grateful to the people of Ealing Southall for giving me the opportunity to continue to tackle it.
Virendra Sharma
Labour MP for Ealing Southall

What a completely and utterly pathetic statement. Unsurprisingly however, it correlates directly with the campaign you ran to become MP.
"Roll up your sleeves"?! Yeah right. Mr Sharma, you've achieved NOTHING in the past 3 years, I can't see that changing now. More importantly, you should not be proud of your victory and let me explain why:
- Your votes in Ealing Southall were achieved by 2 things: firstly, the age-old dependency on the block vote from the ageing Indo-Pak community and secondly, the fact that you and your team were out there convincing the immigrant voters that should Labour lose, they would be packed up into the next 105 bus and ushered off to Heathrow for the next flight out - unfortunately, they bought it!
- Another reason why you shouldn't be proud is because you did no real campaigning. As a constituent, I wanted to hear your opinions and to know your stance on our local issues. I never had the opportunity to do this because you chickened out of attending any of the debates that were organised by the various radio stations and local groups. You're a complete coward and using the lame excuse that you didn't want to share a platform with a certain opponent of yours proves your cowardice. Now that the Tory's have control of Parliament, you'll be surrounded by people who disagree with you, will you chicken out of that? You're a disgrace.
- Lastly, I will refer to a certain document you published 1 week before the election. You know the one -where you essentially carried out one of the most brazen and disgusting smear attempts of an opponent I've ever seen. I won't go into detail but by bringing up "Operation Bluestar" you basically opened up wounds that had only began to heal between the Hindu and Sikh communities. In that one letter, you managed to create a line between us and damaged relations betweens our communities. You should be thoroughly ashamed. You turned the election into something very ugly and there are MANY that will not forgive you for this - EVER.
In summation, during you campaign, you pandered to our fears and not our hopes, you showed laziness, cowardice, malice and to some extent racism. You do not deserve to be the MP of any constituency but somehow you are. You're a typical scheming and horrid politician and I sincerely hope that you spend the next few years mending the divides you created in Southall.
Interesting that one of Sharma's big projects this parliament is opposing Heathrow expansion. Given that the Tory/Lib goverment is firmly against it and it was only ever Sharma's labour friends who wanted expansion, I wonder what Sharma is actually going to do...oh, nothing, as usual! He must be one of the least active MPs in Britain.
Ah, another task is off Sharma's list - the Con/Lib goverment have ditched Sharma's Labour friends' plans to close Ealing Hospital's A&E.
What WILL Sharma now spend his time on?
Hahaha! How ironic!
He'll probably try and claim the credit for that.
This guy's such a [enter any expletive here]! Fast forward to 2015!!!
Cut and paste from a comment left on the "Save our Services" facebook page:
"All of the Labour Health Ministers apart from Andy Burnham have lost their seats at the Election - a hint from the Electorate about hospital closures? Remember, one of them - Ann Keen or 'Mrs Expenses' - was the one Virendra Sharma was relying on with her half-hearted promise to keep Ealing's A&E open. But all she re...ally said was that they had 'no plans' to close it, which leaves everything wide open.
Mr Sharma must be hoping that NHS London does not force through its flawed plans before the re-run of the Election in 6 months or so, or he will have egg all over his face. Incidentally, I'm still waiting for his personal apology for so rudely failing to appear at our Public Meeting on 28th, and I have e-mailed him. But now he has retained his seat (even with a swing to the Tories of over 8%) we shall have to wait and see whether he is still committed to his local Hospital."
